SAN FRANCISCO, CA, MARCH 1, 2010 – Delivery Agent CEO Mike Fitzsimmons, who founded the company with the goal of using the Web to monetize television and film programming, has always been at the forefront of efforts to promote the intersection of entertainment and commerce. Fitzsimmons, whose company today provides content-monetization for more than 200 entertainment properties from major media companies including ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, will participate on a panel at the TV of Tomorrow Show to discuss the current state of interactive television and t-commerce, which is commerce conducted through the television set-top box.
"The opportunities for television programmers to engage with their audiences, to interact and transact with them are unfolding at an astonishing rate," said Fitzsimmons, "The two-screen commerce experience—between the TV and the Web—is the story today. Fitzsimmons' panel at the TV of Tomorrow Show is entitled "The Re-Emergence of T-commerce" and takes place on Thursday, March 4 from 1:15-2:15p.m. at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center. T-commerce has been a promise of interactive television since the medium's beginnings in the early '90s. Trials and commercial deployments in recent years, which have brought it closer to reality, are expected to expand significantly in the next 18 months. The panelists will discuss the infrastructure requirements and key characteristics of a successful consumer-facing t-commerce application. |
